JAY A. FERNANDEZ, a longtime writer and editor, has worked on the editorial staffs of The Washington Post, Code, and The Hollywood Reporter. He created and wrote the weekly column “Scriptland” for the Los Angeles Times, and his essays and journalism have appeared in Lithub, Pacific Standard, Los Angeles, Time Out New York, ACLU Magazine, Premiere, The Washington Post Book World, Entertainment Weekly, Savoy, USA Today, LIFE, National Geographic KIDS, Seventeen, Columbia Journalism Review, and others. He attended the UCLA EXTENSION WRITERS PROGRAM from 2017-2018 and was a past fellow at the Squaw Valley Community of Writers for both fiction and poetry.  Fernandez runs Reviser Editorial, which provides writing and editing services to publications, institutions, and individual creatives. He is currently a fiction editor at L.A. Review of Books.
