Hazel Clayton Harrison

Hazel Clayton Harrison was born in the Deep South into a family of artists. To escape the poverty and terror of Jim Crow, her parents moved her and her brother to Ohio in the early 1950’s. Hazel serves as the Altadena Poet Laureate for Community Events (2018-2020) and reads with the Pasadena Rose Poets. Her works appeared in Grandfathers, A Rock Against the Wind, Altadena Poetry Review and Coiled Serpent.  Her memoir, Crossing the River Ohio, is available on Amazon. Hazel received her M.ED from Kent State University and worked in public schools and business. She operates JAH Light Media, a publishing consulting firm,
