Cecilia Fairchild

Cecilia Fairchild was conceived on a moving train in a thunderstorm outside Marfa, TX. She is a Los Angele native, a seventh generation Californian, and holds her MFA in acting from USC. She is also a playwright whose recent work includes Fortunate Son, a Faust myth set in post-Vietnam New Orleans, which premiered with Coin and Ghost. She just completed The Scavengers' production of Sam Shepard's early play, Back Bog Beast Bait. She is currently writing two new plays: Death of the Last Great Man, about generational grief among women, and Ace in the Hole, about the pieces we sell of ourselves in pursuit of wholeness.
