As a cultural journalist, curator, translator (English-Spanish) and a poet, my work has taken me throughout the U.S., Mexico and Cuba. It was an honor to have been invited to participate in the 13th Annual International Poetry in Havana as well as, more recently, the SIPEA (Sociedad Ibero-Americana de Poetas, Escritores y Artistas) in Ajalpan, Puebla. I am especially interested in the spaces where all these divergent streams and cultural currents intersect. Language and literature have the capacity to transform society for the better and further the evolution of mankind. Love is a powerful, primordial element in much of my writing as is a concern for the transmission of my regard for the written word to young people both inside and outside of the classroom setting.
