The poems presented will feature LA area Poets and Artists bringing timely poems on the topic of immigration in the United States, and the detainment of children. We believe that freedom is for all, and that borders are drawn with the intentions of wealth for governing bodies. They are not embedded on Mother Earth, and are unnatural. We want to voice our poems for all those who are being denied voice and representation in our communities and in our country. Our presentation will include spoken word poems with a communal drum circle -- drums and percussion will be provided on loan to the community to join us -- led by Poet and Congero, Julio Rodriguez. We also plan to have an ASL community member join us so our presentation is accessbile to hearing impaired.
